i recommend that you first start by drinking more water everyday.
if you don't like to drink plain water, then you can add in those flavored things.
or make yourself a HOME MADE SOUP just look up recipes of healthy soups like broccoli soup, or chicken noodle soup, or vegetable soup.
also you should have a minimum of nine hours of sleep every night.

It reminds me of when my mom used to wrap boiled egg and a silver chain in a cloth and put it on her eyes to help with dark circles. Sometimes the chain came out in not only black, but blue, red, yellow or green as well.

Just give her doctor a call. It doesn't sound like infection or allergy it is most likely edema (fluid) under her eye. If she has problems with high blood pressure, fluid retention, etc. around the eyes is another area you can "retain fluids." Fluid can accumulate more on the side she sleeps on most often throughout the night and once she is up for awhile the fluid diminishes a bit. Cool packs can help, so will a cooled tea bag. But give her doctor a call and ask about a possible problem with fluid retention.

If it's just the one eye then it isn't an allergy. She may have a slight cold in her eye. I would keep an eye on it and see what happens in the next few days, it it stays the same or gets worse then take her in to see the doctor, but I don't think it will be necessary and remember this, keep your hands and fingers away from the eyes and face during the flu season. If you speak with enough people on here your going to find some kind of crazy urbane legend that they'll swear by but, there isn't anything in the home I would put in my eyes.

I remember a store in the 90's that made you pay for bags, a discount supermarket. I think LA is either banning bags or imposing a 25cent fee on all of them. I'll have to look it up. We have reusable bags that we use sometimes, but I reuse grocery bags! The paper bags are our trash bags and the plastic bags are for my lunch. I reuse the same plastic bag till it gets too gunky to use, usually a week. Then they go in the recycling bin.
By the way, no explanation will ever satisfy me. So in the end it's not a cause I want but a remedy. The only remedy could be to totally reverse.

I am 49 and have bags under my eyes. I use concealer and foundation, without them I’d just look hideous! I have even tried using Preparation H on my bags. Are bags just a natural part of the aging process?
Chill some wet tea bags (chamomile or green) in the freezer for 15 min. Then lay down and slightly elevate your head to help draint the excess fluid from underneath your eyes. Relax for 10-15 min. Make sure to moisturize the area after you are done.
Some other tips/tricks:
1. Don’t spend a lot of time in a hot shower because this can make the undereye bags much worse.
2. Cut back on salt intake and skip alchohol for the day.
3. Sleep with your head slightly elevated.
4. Get some exercise. This will get your blood pumping, which helps to drain the fluid from your ‘eye bags’.

one good tip is to put cold soaked teabags on your eyes, this should reduce the puffiness if there is any. I don’t think there’s any home remedies to get rid of this problem, but i’m sure if you consulted a cosmetologist or a dermatologist about this they’d be able to come up with a solution, there’s so much technology around these days you might as well use it!
i suffer from minor bags under my eyes and I find a brightening concealer really helps.
